Bengaluru Police Challenges Bail Granted to Actor Darshan and Others in Supreme Court

Bengaluru police file a petition in the Supreme Court to revoke the bail granted to actor Darshan and six others in the Renukaaswamy murder case. The petition questions the High Court's earlier decision. The case brings renewed legal challenges for the actor and his co-accused.

Bengaluru: Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, along with Pavitra Gowda and six other accused in the Renukaaswamy murder case, faces renewed legal challenges. The Bengaluru Police filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Monday, seeking to cancel the bail granted by the High Court to the accused. This move has thrown the actor back into legal uncertainty despite being out on bail.

The petition, which questions the High Court’s decision to grant bail to the seven accused, was submitted by the police today. Anil Nishani, a lawyer representing the police, urged the Supreme Court to revoke the bail granted to Darshan, Pavitra Gowda, Lakshman, Pradeesh, Nagaraju, Anukumar, and Jagadeesh in connection with the case.

On December 13, Justice S. Vishwajit Shetty of the High Court had allowed conditional bail for the main accused, including Darshan, Pavitra Gowda, and the others named in the murder case. This order, which permitted the accused to be released on bail, is now being contested by the police in the Supreme Court.
