New Delhi: Tata Group’s Air India has become the first Indian airline to introduce inflight Wi-Fi connectivity on domestic flights. This milestone was announced by the airline in a press release on Wednesday.

Passengers can now enjoy Wi-Fi services aboard select aircraft, including Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9, and Airbus A321neo models, on domestic routes. This service aims to enhance the travel experience by allowing users to browse the Internet, access social media, complete work tasks, or stay in touch with family and friends during their journey.

Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India, emphasized the growing importance of connectivity in modern travel. “For many travelers, staying connected is about boosting productivity, while for others, it’s about comfort and convenience,” he said. “We’re confident that this feature will improve the onboard experience and be highly appreciated by our passengers.”

Air India Inflight Wi-Fi on Domestic Flights

The service is compatible with smartphones, tablets, and laptops running Android or iOS, and passengers can even connect multiple devices simultaneously once the aircraft reaches an altitude of 10,000 feet.

Air India’s domestic Wi-Fi rollout builds on its ongoing pilot program for international flights. This program is available on select aircraft flying to destinations such as New York, London, Paris, and Singapore, offering a seamless online experience to global travelers.
