Tumakuru : A woman visiting Madhugiri DYSP Ramachandrappa’s office to file a complaint alleged that he behaved inappropriately. A video showing the officer’s actions has gone viral, causing embarrassment to the Karnataka Police Department. The incident took place in Tumakuru, the home district of Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwar.
The woman had visited the office from Pavagada regarding a land dispute. It is alleged that the officer took her to a private room and acted inappropriately. The video, reportedly recorded by a man named Anil who accompanied her, spread widely on WhatsApp.
Following the video’s circulation, DYSP Ramachandrappa has gone into hiding. The incident has led to public outrage, with demands for strict action against the officer.
Tumakuru SP Ashok Reacts to Harassment Allegations
Calling the incident “unfortunate,” Tumakuru SP Ashok emphasized, “This is a serious matter. Senior officers have been notified, and a thorough investigation will be conducted. While I had some preliminary information, there was no evidence at the time. The department will not tolerate any form of harassment or violence against women. Legal action will be taken to maintain the public’s trust in the police force.”
